Poonam Mahajan
Poonam Mahajan is a Member of Parliament from Mumbai’s North Central constituency. Poonam held the post of General Secretary of the Maharashtra State Unit of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in April 2007, after which she was appointed as the National Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in August 2010. Poonam become one of the youngest National Secretaries of the BJP in 2013 and successfully executed the responsibility of a Prabhari for Dadra Nagar Haveli. During the run up to general elections of 2014, she was appointed on the BJP’s Committee for Young Voters for the Mission 272+ where she worked across India for the registration ofnew voters. Poonam has been actively involved in social work through NGOs like Pramod Mahajan Pratishthan and Tapasvi Public Charitable Trust and is a trustee at the People for Animals Foundation. A trained pilot, she also holds a Diploma in Leadership Management from Brighton school. Her mantra has been ‘politician-public partnership’ and she intends to use this going forward in every project she undertakes. Arsh Mogre Arsh Mogre a student from Mumbai, India has always been interested in political affairs. Arsh has played a crucial role along with India’s Prime Minister Narenda Modi in launching the “Clean India Campaign” he is determined to see citizens take action towards improving sanitation and believes that “in order to have successful government, citizens need to support social activities, and establish trust with their leaders.” He is working to bring politicians, celebrities, and citizens together to raise awareness about the importance of sanitation. With the help of social media he is reaching out to his community and encouraging increased participation in improving sanitation. Chetan Sharma Chetan Sharma is a strategist who creates and optimizes products so that they can serve people better. He has a keen inclination in designing solutions with their long-term sustainability in mind. He currently works as a senior strategist with India’s leading mobile app maker. Prior to this, he has worked with a Belgian Non-Governmental Organization that provides healthcare services in the slums and rural areas of India. Shweta Bajpal Shweta Bajpal, a Freelancer working for Edubridge, India. She believes in working for society through helping out whenever and wherever needed. Her hobbies are - dancing, painting, Reading books and travelling. She has worked with many NGOs Non-Governmental Organizations for various causes namely Tree Plantation Drive and cleaning the city during festivals. She has also worked with Vcare Foundation who provide education to children who are victims of Cancer, She has also aided women who work as maids or are involved in physical labour in learning different skills namely tailoring and candle making. She is passionate about making a change for the betterment of India, and the whole wide world alike. Tanvi Nathwani Tanvi Nathwani is an effervescent and sincere student of Jamnabai Narsee School, IB. She fully supports of this healthy cause and is ever ready to help out whenever and wherever needed. "Since sanitation has so many effects across all aspects of development - it affects education, health, maternal mortality, infant mortality, and labour - so it becomes a political football. Nobody has full responsibility. It's all of us who are liable." she says. Additionally, she is currently volunteering at JOSH Foundation as their Online Blogger where she handles of all their social media marketing. She promises to contribute to her fullest for the improvement of sanitation and other socioeconomic issues in her vicinity. |
